Pulitzer Prize-Winning Playwright Susan Glaspell

Greetings!

Welcome to the Wednesday Deep Dive and thanks for being here.

This missive is brought to you by the letter C and the color purple.

C for curiosity. C for collective. C for the French word for heart, cœur.

Also, if I’m honest, C for caffeine.

I’ve been exploring the concept of polyphonic voices here in this newsletter because it’s a core value of mine. I truly enjoy hearing different perspectives and sharing my own. It’s what I love about storytelling! I’m also increasingly curious about how and why some voices are heard and others are drowned out. I’m curious about what exit polls have to tell us about the most recent election results here in the USA and what that tells us about who feels they are being heard and why.

C is also for complexity.

I promised I would talk about American playwright Susan Glaspell and so I shall, not in small part because she was a woman whose voice was heard, then shut down, then came back posthumously. Okay, beautiful people, let’s do our Deep Dive!
